3GVision's Business
Card Reader application automatically extracts contact details
from ordinary business cards. The camera captures the business
card, and the extracted details
are stored into the device's phone book.
Combining 3GVision's unique mobile character recognition
technology with card analysis technology, the process of
scanning and storing a business card becomes fast and simple.
A Card Reader Exactly
When You Need It Offering the similar functionality to PC
based card reader applications, 3GVision's mobile
Business Card Reader is at reach when you first receive
a new business card. As the mobile phone book becomes your
preferred way to manage contact details, 3GVision's
Business Card Reader updates that same phone book, later
allowing synchronizing with the PC.
When You Just Want
to Make a Call
Sometimes, all you want is to call or e-mail the business
card owner. 3GVision's mobile Business Card Reader
provides simple but useful functionality, designed to make
life easier.
Just scan the card and select the phone number to dial (there
could be more than one on
single card).
Reading the Characters
3GVision's Business Card Reader is based on Optical
Character Recognition technology
(OCR) that was originally designed to work in camera phones.
It uses memory and processing power sparingly, while handling
camera limitations and
effects of non-uniform lighting conditions. The OCR engine
was tailored for the Business
Card Reader to provide unique functionality:
Using context information, or comparing textual data originating
from different sources
(for example, comparing the E-mail address with the company
name). The Business Card Reader uses these methods to cross-examine
the data, and obtain more accurate results.
Language Support
3GVision's Business Card Reader currently recognizes
Latin characters.
Support is available for business cards in several European
languages.
Business Card SDK
The Business Card Reader core engine is also supplied as
an independent
component for third party applications.
